John has served the City of Marquette as its Mayor since 2008. His experiences in public office have prepared him well to serve the 109th District in the Michigan House of Representatives. During John’s tenure as Mayor, the City of Marquette has maintained its position among the most stable, vibrant communities in Michigan. While other parts of the State experience financial difficulties, the City of Marquette has paid down debt, maintained a general fund surplus, hired employees and borrowed less than other similar communities. John will put his experience in the City of Marquette to work for us in Lansing.
Outside of elected politics John has had extensive experience in public service including serving on the Children’s Museum Board, the City of Marquette Boardof Zoning Appeals, and a committee member for the Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union. He is also a member of the Marquette Rotary Club, the Elks Club, the Marquette County Chapter of the Paisano Club, and the Home Builder’s Association.
